Amy Corneau Los Angeles Support Group (PM)
My journey with chronic illness began in 2010 when I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis, MAC (Mycobacterium Avium Complex), aspergillus, pseudomonas, and stenotrophomonas.
After enjoying what I called remission, my health took another hit in 2020 when I contracted COVID and was hospitalized twice. Since then, MAC and aspergillus infections have been persistent challenges. Despite these setbacks, I remain positive and optimistic, supported by a dedicated team of local doctors and my loving family.
My own experiences inspired me to give back by becoming a support group leader. I co-lead the PM Los Angeles group alongside Andy Smith, who leads the AM group, all held via Zoom. I find great fulfillment in connecting with others, sharing advice, and providing comfort to those who are newly navigating their diagnoses. My goal is to create a space where members feel supported and empowered to face their health challenges.
